Estonia is planning to build housing for the families of the DBST who were forced to move to Zhytomyr. On February 6, at a meeting with Estonian partners, they discussed the project with a presentation of the construction of such houses for three families. Among them are two families who came to the Zhytomyr community from the village of Novovorontsovka and from the Hornostayiv district of Kherson region.
They meet representatives of a friendly country with great gratitude. One of the families is raising four foster children and lives under a contract in a building that was reconstructed into a social shelter. This family dreams of a house where up to ten children could feel comfortable. They want to give warmth and comfort to so many children.
Partners from Estonia are also helping to reform the vocational education system. Representatives of Zhytomyr vocational schools have already seen how Estonian vocational schools work. They say they have gained experience, motivation and a roadmap. And the first steps have already been taken: managers and teams are being trained, and internal evaluation of the institutions will begin soon.
“Estonia’s patronage of the restoration of Zhytomyr region proves that this support is genuine, sincere and unprecedented. This includes the restoration of facilities, assistance to the Armed Forces, European integration, education, and more. We appreciate our friends and partners and thank them for their reliable shoulder in a difficult time for Ukraine,” said Svitlana Olshanska, First Deputy Mayor.
