“Each piece of jewelry has its own connotation and symbolism. For example, a coral necklace with ducats was worn by wealthy, “status” girls. Usually, their boyfriends wanted to woo them first. The same is true for the patsy, which are made of Murano glass in Venice. These beads were considered the most expensive among those in Ukraine. White beads or balamuts are wedding beads. Necklaces with rustling beads are believed to be a talisman against evil spirits. Or, as they used to joke, a woman rustles, and her husband hears that she is coming home. “Grandmotherly” or ‘wooden’ jewelry is for older women who passed their jewelry to their daughters or daughters-in-law and wore mostly linen and wooden products. Kauri shell necklaces are overseas, the material was brought from abroad. Darmovys were glass beads for girls who could not afford expensive jewelry but wanted to attract attention.”
Iryna Vasylieva represents BOROVSKY, a manufacturer of branded paper packaging for food and industrial goods.
“Gift bags, boxes, envelopes… There are small boards on which you can write wishes and send them to your beloved. You can even print a portrait,” says Iryna Vasylieva.
Yelyzaveta Yavorska demonstrates children’s and adult textiles and clothing:
“We also participate in the show. If we talk about textile production, our brand is Little Bunny Shop, and our clothing brand is In Clothes ZT. Here we have children’s products, products for newborns, as well as bedding and tablecloths. There is both machine and hand embroidery,” says the entrepreneur.
“Today’s event is an event that will help Zhytomyr residents and guests of the city to get acquainted with the products and services that exist in Zhytomyr. We have an ambitious hope that we, the people of Zhytomyr, will praise our comfortable Zhytomyr services, our clothes and taste the goodies produced at our factories. Today you have the opportunity to see the people who to some extent create the history of our city. We invite all Zhytomyr citizens!”, – Galyna Shymanska, Secretary of the City Council.
