Zhytomyr at ReBuild Ukraine 21.11.2025

A platform for new partnerships, investment attraction, and the promotion of innovative projects essential for the recovery and sustainable development of communities.

On 13–14 November 2025, the Zhytomyr community participated in the international exhibition-conference ReBuild Ukraine: Construction & Energy in Warsaw.

The Community Marathon is a part of ReBuild Ukraine, where representatives of local governments present their communities’ strategic projects to potential investors, international organizations, and business partners.

Zhytomyr joined nineteen municipalities – members of the Association of Ukrainian Cities – that showcased their initiatives. Another hundred communities had the opportunity to exchange experience and receive consultations and information from experts and representatives of authorities and businesses from various countries.

Zhytomyr presented two major projects aimed at energy transformation:

  • Construction of a CHP plant operating on solid fuel — SRF/RDF and other alternative fuels;

  • Installation of a heat pump at the existing boiler house RK-6, which will enable the modernization of the district heating system.

These projects are part of Zhytomyr’s strategy to become climate-neutral by 2050. Transitioning to alternative fuels and heat pumps will help reduce natural gas consumption and decrease dependence on it.

“Zhytomyr City Territorial Community strives to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This goal is embedded in the community’s strategic and operational documents. The projects are an important step toward energy independence and environmental resilience. They integrate innovative energy solutions, contribute to reducing emissions, and support the development of renewable energy sources,” said Deputy Mayor Serhii Kondratiuk. Together with the Director of Zhytomyrteplokomunenergo, he represented the community at the Marathon.
