On July 17, 2024, during a regional visit, Ambassador of Ukraine to Portugal Maryna Mykhailenko met with the Zhytomyr City Council delegation and local businesses. She also met with the Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Mario Passos. Additionally, the delegation visited TMG Textiles, a leading textile company in the region.

The Ambassador thanked Mr. Passos for starting the partnership between Zhytomyr and the Portuguese city in 2022. During their meeting, they identified priority areas for cooperation. Specifically, they focused on the textile industry, which is crucial for both regions.

The meeting was part of a three-day visit aimed at exploring mutual business opportunities. The visit focused on the textile industry, green economy, and digitalization. This trip was supported by the EU4Business project, “Support to Strengthening Partnerships between Municipalities in Ukraine and the EU.”
