Zhytomyr Community Explores Estonia’s Best Practices in Entrepreneurial Education 14.06.2025

From May 31 to June 7, 2025, a Ukrainian delegation visited the Republic of Estonia as part of the project “Integrating Entrepreneurship into Ukraine’s Vocational Education System.” The goal of the visit was to develop educational materials and create conditions for implementing entrepreneurial education in vocational institutions across Ukraine.

The program brought together representatives from municipalities, universities, and vocational education and training (VET) centers from various regions of Ukraine. Participants studied Estonia’s experience in integrating entrepreneurship into vocational training and took part in the development of teaching materials aimed at fostering entrepreneurial competencies.

The delegation visited the Tehnopol Science and Business Park and the Mektory Innovation and Business Centre (TalTech), where practical programs supporting young entrepreneurs and startups are actively implemented. At the Ministry of Finance of Estonia, participants were introduced to the national financial literacy strategy for schoolchildren, and at the Tallinn School of Economics, they explored educational modules focused on sustainable business management.

The delegation also explored local initiatives, including youth entrepreneurship support programs at the Parnu County Development Center and HR development strategies at Parnu Hospital, aimed at retaining qualified specialists.

During a seminar at Kuressaare Ametikool, Ukrainian educators and their Estonian counterparts discussed tools for fostering entrepreneurial thinking and creating value through vocational education.

Participants visited educational institutions, innovation hubs, and organizations that promote entrepreneurship. They observed how various stakeholders collaborate to integrate entrepreneurial approaches into education, discussed effective cooperation models, and shared ideas for adapting these practices in Ukraine.

As a result of the project, new methodological and training materials will be developed for vocational education teachers. Students will gain practical skills in business creation and management, as well as access to international entrepreneurial communities.
