A dialogue between representatives of the business community and vocational colleges took place in Zhytomyr, aimed at establishing cooperation for the implementation of joint projects on employment for students and graduates.
The main goal of the event was to establish effective interaction between educational institutions and businesses, which will enable the training of qualified workers in accordance with labor market needs.
Heads of educational institutions presented updated training programs for workers in the fields of woodworking, metalworking, and agriculture, and provided information about newly established modern training centers equipped with innovative technologies.
According to Mykola Perelyhin, Director of the Vocational College of Technical Innovations, cooperation with businesses is already yielding tangible results. In particular, the college, in collaboration with the company “Eurogold,” has begun work on a new specialty: “CNC Machine Operator.” The process of obtaining a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is currently underway.
“We are open to cooperation and ready to implement new vocational directions. In addition, we are actively discussing dual education, which combines theoretical learning at educational institutions with practical experience at enterprises. This gives students the opportunity to gain real work experience,” said Mykola Perelyhin.
During the event, business representatives outlined in detail the competency requirements for future employees, emphasizing the importance of practical skills and noting that such reforms will indeed help improve the quality of vocational training. They also shared information about the most in-demand specialists in relevant industries.
As a result of the meeting, the following next steps were developed: organizing events to promote vocational professions, involving enterprise specialists in delivering lectures, and conducting informational and educational activities for vocational educators, among others.
The participants confirmed the importance of such meetings and expressed their readiness for further cooperation.
