On May 12, a preparatory meeting for the international Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 took place in Verona, Italy. The main conference is scheduled for July in Rome. The event was organized by the governments of Ukraine and Italy, with the participation of representatives from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), mayors, regional leaders, and international partners.
The Zhytomyr community was represented at the event by First Deputy Mayor Svitlana Olshanska.
During the event, participants discussed innovative approaches to infrastructure recovery, attracting international investments, integrating internally displaced persons into communities, and supporting relocated businesses.
In meetings with representatives of the European Investment Bank, opportunities to submit projects under open grant programs for energy efficiency were discussed. Priority areas include the modernization of educational and healthcare institutions, as well as critical infrastructure. Applications for these grants will be accepted until the end of July.
The Zhytomyr community expresses gratitude to international partners who actively support the city’s projects.
The meeting in Verona marked an important step toward the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, which aims to mobilize international support for Ukraine’s recovery.
