Tallinn presented 20 buses to Zhytomyr community.
‘A week ago, the buses went on routes in our city. They are operating and are in good condition. They are not older than ten years. We hope they will serve Zhytomyr for a long time’, Mihhail Kõlvart, the mayor of Tallinn, remarked as he gave the mayor of Zhytomyr the bus keys.
‘Public transportation serves to connect locations on a map. The transfer of the buses represents the union of our hearts: Estonian and Ukrainian peoples’, Mihhail Kõlvart added.
‘Estonia was the first country to respond to the President of Ukraine’s appeal and picked the Zhytomyr oblast as a location to restore. In Ovruch and Malyn, work is already underway to construct a kindergarten and rebuild a bridge. We are also collaborating on other projects. Buses for Zhytomyr are a practical necessary help given the current energy crisis’, Arseniy Pushkarenko, a People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the leader of the inter-parliamentary cooperation group with the Republic of Estonia, says.
‘These buses will operate on city routes. We are unable to release all of the trolleybuses due to capacity issues. Buses are a good alternative as a result. Many thanks to Tallinn and the Republic of Estonia for their assistance and close friendship!’, Serhiy Sukhomlyn concluded.
